History
Library of Mahidol University Kanchanaburi Campus (LIKA) was established in 2002. Firstly, the service of LIKA was operated at the 3rd Floor of the General Education Building. Next the LIKA was moved to the 1st floor of Administrative Building in 2004 due to insufficient space for library service. However, the location of LIKA at that time was quite far for supporting students and staffs. In 2006, the LIKA with the area of 658 m2 was specifically designed for library service at the 1st floor of General Laboratory Building. The library service has been operated at this location since 2006.
LIKA which is a branch of main library at the Salaya campus serves as a learning source for conductive teaching and learning at the Kanchanaburi Campus. LIKA supports staffs and students for providing textbooks according to their needs which relate to programs. Moreover, book delivery could be used among libraries in other campuses of the Mahidol university as well as inter-library loan among libraries in Thailand could be serviced. Many e-journals and e-books from the main libraries could be searched for supporting teaching and learning as well as research topics. In addition, LIKA promotes many activities to support life-long learning skills for staffs and students. Many techniques relating to online searching and collecting digital information have also been trained by librarians from the main campus and LIKA.
