AG Hackathon on “Interdisciplinary Green Innovations”

On 23 April 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Waraporn Threeprom, Assistant to the Vice President for Research and Innovation, presided over the opening ceremony of the AG Hackathon under the theme Interdisciplinary Green Innovations. She also welcomed Mr. Niwat Khantho,Manager of Agricultural Innovation at Doi Kham Food Products Co., Ltd., and Mr. Adit Krisanavong, Chief Public and Private Affairs Officer at CPF (Thailand) Public Company Limited, along with their teams, who honored the event by participating as guest speakers in a special discussion titled “Innovation for Communities: Strategies and Challenges from the Private Sector”. They also served as judges for the student project presentation competition. The event was organized by Dr. Prapapan Sawhasan, Head of the Agricultural Science program, along with faculty members from Kanchanaburi Campus. The project was overseen by Mr. Kantapong Sinapa, a lecturer in Agricultural Science. A total of 15 student teams submitted their projects for the competition, and awards and certificates were presented to three winning teams as follows:
1. Team Wolffia Superfood – First Prize
2. Team Insecta Innovator – First Runner-up
3. Team Paster Faster – Second Runner-up
The activity provided a platform for students to share and brainstorm creative ideas in innovation and business. It promoted collaboration among students from Agricultural Science and other interdisciplinary programs such as Accountancy, Business Administration, Food Technology, Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management, Geoscience, and Conservation Biology. The event also helped students enhance their skills in public speaking, presentation, and teamwork—valuable experiences they can carry forward to contribute to the sustainable development of the nation.
The AG Hackathon ran from March 26 to April 23, 2025, at the Phailinphuthan Meeting Room, Lecture Hall, Mahidol University, Kanchanaburi Campus.
