Congratulations to Dr. Chanpen Saralamba, a lecturer in the Conservation Biology Program

Congratulations to Dr. Chanpen Saralamba, a lecturer in the Conservation Biology Program at Mahidol University (Kanchanaburi Campus), on being awarded the Ernst Mach Grant, ASEA-UNINET for the 2023-2024 year. This post-doctoral research grant, granted by OeAD, Agency for Education and Internationalisation, and the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research, Austria, fund her research at the Messerli Research Institute, University of Veterinary Vienna (Vetmeduni) (https://www.vetmeduni.ac.at/en/messerli) from February 1 to September 30, 2024.
During this period, under the supervision of Assoc.Prof. Dr. Alice Auersperg and Dr.
Remco Folkertsma, Dr. Saralamba will investigate the play behavior of young white-handed gibbons (Hylobates lar) and explore age and gender differences. This research aims to provide insights into the development of play and other behaviors among young gibbons in their natural habitat. The findings are crucial for understanding and conserving gibbons in the wild and may also contribute to the care of gibbons in captivity in the future.
