Education Management System

The educational management system uses a bi-semester systemOne academic year could be divided into 2 regular semesters; namely first and second semesters Each semester takes at least 15 weeks of study excluding the examination period.  The first semester starts from August until December.  Whereas the second semester is from January to May.  

The summer semester could be taken in some program.  The duration of summer semester covers from June to August.  Please check the official schedule from our website or consult with your advisor prior to enrolling the course that you are interested in the summer semester.  After passing the third year of study, undergraduate students have to enroll the internship course.  This will take place during the summer semester with approximately 240 hours of practicum training (during June – July). 

VENUE OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

For undergraduate students 

During the first year of study, all new students have to study at Salaya campus.  The general education courses blend students from different programs to study together; therefore, you will have a chance to make new friends from different fields of study.  This will be fruitful for you to learn and practice how to make a teamwork from different background.   

During the 2nd – 4th year of study, the venue of study will mainly take place at the Mahidol University Kanchanaburi Campus.  However, some classes which are owned mostly from different faculties may take place at the Salaya campus.  Please check your class prior to enrollment.  In addition, many courses may bring students to field trips which are located outside Mahidol University Kanchanaburi Campus.  This will let you know in the course syllabus and announce at the beginning of the class.  In some cases, you may be appointed to participate in student-exchange program which may need to go to other countries.  Please contact to our International Relations and Corporate Communication Division for further details.  During your internships and cooperative education, you have to go to the place where private or public sectors give an officially notice to the Education Service Division. 

For Post-graduate students

Teaching Management Model

Teaching and learning management style for each class may be different due to the needs to fulfill the student outcomes of the courses and assessment methods.  Please check at the course syllabus of each course for further details.  You may study in the classroom which the examples of teaching methods are lecture and group discussion.  We provide different sizes of classrooms as mentioned in facilities and learning.  Most of the programs give the opportunity for you to practice in the laboratories which are certified by Research Laboratory Safety Standards in ThailandAll of the students have to be trained for laboratory safety prior to laboratory usage.   

In many cases, you have to study outside the classroom.  Many teaching and learning methods; such as case study from field trips, problem-solving for community development, internships, and project works from co-operative education, are provided.  Therefore, students have opportunities to apply their knowledge in the workplace, or bring knowledge to the community to join in the integration of various fields of knowledge and integrate knowledge with villagers for community development.
