The 5th International Seminar on Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management (ISED)

On May 12, 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Waraporn Threeprom, Assistant to the Vice President for Kanchanaburi Campus in Plan and Research, presided over the opening ceremony of the 5th International Seminar on Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management (ISED). The event was hosted by the Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management Program, Mahidol University, Kanchanaburi Campus, in collaboration with leading international universities from three countries: Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur (UPNVJT), Indonesia; Nagasaki University (NU), Japan; and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), Taiwan (R. O. C).
The seminar aimed to encourage students’ personal development and raise their awareness as global citizens in contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key activities included expert lectures under the “Professor Talk” session. Notably, Prof. Chitsan Lin from the Department of Marine Environmental Engineering, NKUST, delivered a lecture titled “Racing to 2050 Net Zero: National Policy and What a Potential Discharger Should Do?” Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Arika Bridhikitti, a faculty member of the Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management Program, presented on “Sustainability in the Thai Sugarcane Industry.”
The seminar also featured 7 student presentations from the 4 partner institutions. Representing Mahidol University, students from the Environmental Engineering and Disaster Management Program — Ms. Kornwipa Tongkaew, Ms. Prawanee Chukham, Ms. Chayanit Phiphatphon, and Ms. Suwapitch Watthanarungreung — delivered their presentations online.
