Mahidol University Award

The Mahidol University Award is an award given by Mahidol University to personnel who demonstrate integrity, morality, knowledge, ability, creativity, efficiency, effectiveness, and outstanding work or excellence in any one field.  It is divided into 2 categories as follows:

(1) Outstanding Category

This award is given to personnel who demonstrate integrity, morality, knowledge, ability, creativity, efficiency, effectiveness, and have excellent work in at least 4 out of 5 fields as follows:

1.1 Research

1.2 Textbook authorship

1.3 Invention and innovation

1.4 Service

1.5 Teaching Mastery

Personnel who have received the Outstanding Category Award will not be considered for the Outstanding Category again.

(2) Excellence in Specific Field Category

This award is given to personnel who demonstrate integrity, morality, knowledge, ability, creativity, efficiency, effectiveness, and have outstanding work in any one field as follows:

2.1 Research

2.2 Textbook authorship

2.3 Invention and innovation

2.4 Service

2.5 Teaching Mastery

Personnel who have received the Excellence in Specific Field Category in any one field may be considered for the award in that field again after a period of three years from the date of receiving the award.

Recipients of the award for any academic year will receive the certificate on the day of the annual degree conferral ceremony for that academic year.

Recipients of the award will receive a commemorative plaque and a cash prize as follows:

  • Outstanding Category Award: a cash prize of five hundred thousand baht
  • Excellence in Specific Field Category Award: a cash prize of two hundred and fifty thousand baht

 

MUKA Outstanding Personnel Awards

The MUKA Outstanding Personnel Awards are divided into a total of 4 groups, as follows.

Group 1: Government Official within the educational institution, totaling 3 individuals

Group 2: Temporary Wage Employee, totaling 1 individual

Group 3: Permanent Wage Employee, totaling 1 individual

Group 4: University Employee and MUKA employee, totaling 2 individuals

The person recognized as a MUKA outstanding staff member will receive a shield of honor and be nominated to participate in the consideration of outstanding staff members of the university in the future.

MUKA Outstanding Personnel Awards for Publication

Every year we collect information about number of international publications, FWCI, number of high-quality publications, number of collaborated publications, and citation.  Then we give awards to personnel who achieve the highest criterion as mentioned.  The awards also provide for varying range of working period.

Outstanding Personnel Awards for Teaching and Learning

We encourage you to pass MU-PSF level 2 and beyond.  The person recognized as a MU-PSF level 2 and beyond will receive a “Kanpai” emblem.  Once you achieve the MU-PSF level 3, you will get award.

 

Honoring and Glorifying

Those who are selected as outstanding government official, Mahidol employees, MUKA employees, and wage employees of the Kanchanaburi campus will receive certificates of honor or awards of glory as appropriate, presented by the Kanchanaburi campus on the occasion of its anniversary. They will also be nominated for consideration in the selection of outstanding government official, Mahidol and MUKA employees, and wage employees of the prestigious university, as determined by the university’s specified personnel categories.

Individuals who have been selected as outstanding university-level personnel in all groups will be honored and glorified as follows:

  • University emblem made of gold and a gold necklace, total value not exceeding 30,000 baht,
  • Certificate of honor from the university,
  • Public acknowledgment and dissemination of the individual’s biography and achievements in various university media for general awareness among the staff, and
  • Inclusion of the individual’s biography in the personnel data system or personnel file

The acts of honor and glorification will be conducted during the anniversary celebration of the Royal Naming Day of Mahidol University (March 2nd of each year).  Examples of the recognition are shown below.

In the event of being selected as outstanding university-level personnel from the category groups of government official in educational institutions and regular employees funded by the budget, besides receiving honors and glorifications mentioned previously, the university’s Outstanding Personnel Selection Committee will select suitable candidates according to the number specified by the organizing committee for government officials’ Day to nominate for the Royal Insignia (Golden Kris) and an honorary certificate from the Prime Minister during the government officials ‘ Day event (April 1st of each year) and include their biography in the commemorative book of outstanding government officials.

Individuals selected as outstanding faculty-level personnel (in case they are not selected as outstanding university-level personnel) will receive an honorary certificate from the university, which will be presented during the anniversary celebration of the Royal Naming Day of Mahidol University (March 2nd of each year).

The Good Person Award, Sri Kanchan, Kanchanaburi Province

The Office of the Provincial Education Commission of Kanchanaburi Province conducts the selection process for the ‘Sri Kanchan Good Person Education Award for the Year’ to honor and glorify the integrity, morality, and ethical conduct of government official, teachers, and educational personnel who consistently demonstrate integrity and morality.  Examples of the recognition in 2023 are shown below.
